Hole #1
Originally designed as the 10th hole, this mid-length opening par 4 gives players a few options off the tee, with a large fairway bunker guarding the left side that requires a well hit tee shot. A greenside bunker obstructs the view to the elevated green for the golfer playing it safe on the right side of the fairway. Taking less club from the tee, taking the bunker out of play leaves players a long uphill shot into a small undulating green.
Hole #2
This short par 5 presents a great opportunity with little danger to be found off the tee. Most players have a chance to hit the green in regulation with little trouble but a deep narrow green with out of bounds right and a deep bunker to the left requires a precise shot with excellent distance control.
Hole #3
This mid-length par 4 offers a daunting look from the tee. Tightly lined by trees on either side, players must hit a straight on tee shot to be within striking distance of the elevated green, which gives little relief sloping off both the back and front sides.
Hole #4
This sharp dog leg left par 4 requires a precise tee shot down a narrow, tree lined fairway. Players who miss the fairway will likely have to lay up, avoiding bunkers both left and right of the green. An undulating putting surface will present a stiff challenge for every player.
Hole #5
The first par 3 on the front will test every player’s ball striking ability off the tee. Long, tree lined and with a green protected by trees all around and a deep bunker short, golfers will be tested in all their abilities from tee to green.
Hole #6
This short par 4 can be puzzling from the teeing ground. Curving nearly ninety degrees to the right , the 6th green is guarded by bunkers on both sides and sloping from right to left. Aggressive players may find themselves with difficult chip shots back onto the green.
Hole #7
This par 5 plays very long, with a fairway sloping off to a penalty area left and trees on the right. Even a well struck tee shot will leave golfers needing a precise lay up to a narrow approach flanked by trees. The green complex is one of the largest on the golf course but players getting too aggressive could find themselves in a difficult situation chipping from off the green.
Hole #8
This downhill par 3 challenges players to hit a precise tee shot to a narrow green flanked by bunkers on both sides and water on the left. The green slopes steeply from back to front requiring exact club selection.
Hole #9
This dogleg right par 4 may not look very daunting from the teeing ground but obscured by a hill to the right lays a pond that runs the entire length of the fairway. Aggressive players who stay out of the penalty area can easily find themselves blocked behind a large tree guarding the green from the right side. A long second shot over water to a two-tiered green will test a golfer’s nerve as well as his or her ball striking ability. This picturesque green overlooking the water slopes quickly from left to right, and chips or putts struck too firmly risk ending up in the penalty area.
Hole #10
A long, uphill par 4 presents a challenging start to the back nine. Golfers are greeted by a more open look from the teeing ground. Trees line the fairway near the green, which is protected by deep sand bunkers on both sides.
Hole #11
The 11th hole is a short downhill par 3 to a large green with bunkers short and right. A large drop off will welcome an errant tee shot to the left leaving a difficult chip back up the hill.
Hole #12
Players are required to hit a well-placed drive, avoiding trees on the left and water to the right. A well struck tee shot will give golfers the chance to get on the green in two. This narrow but deep green is split across the middle by a large mound forcing players to properly calculate their approach distance to avoid a long putt over a large knob.
Hole #13
This short par 4 features a blind tee shot over a hill and an approach back uphill and over a greenside bunker. The relatively wide fairway is guarded by large trees left and right and out of bounds along the entire right side. Players are faced with a challenging approach shot to a green sloping drastically from left to right and back to front. Shots left above the hole can easily be putted off the green.
Hole #14
As the most difficult hole on the back nine, the 14th hole presents a daunting tee shot. A narrow fairway is flanked closely by trees on both sides and out of bounds up the entire right side. Even a good drive will leave a relatively long, blind second shot uphill to a two-tier green protected by a deep sand bunker. The green, while large, is two-tiered from right to left with an elevation change of five feet from top to bottom. Players who miss to the wrong side of the green are faced with a very difficult putt up or down hill.
Hole #15
The par 4 15th hole opens with a narrower downhill tee shot through an alley of trees to a fairway with water right and trees left. Players then stare down a green shielded by bunkers short and right as well as a pond that runs the length of the fairway and green on the right side. While the green is one of the largest on the property, its two-tiered design requires players to make a wise decision when making their club selection.
Hole #16
This long uphill par 3 will require players to display their ball striking prowess with longer clubs. A large green is protected by trees on the right side and a deep sand bunker short. While the green may appear relatively flat it hides many subtle breaks and valleys requiring all of a player’s green reading attention.
Hole #17
This short par 5 offers players a risk/reward finish. With trees left but relatively little danger right, even an errant tee shot can still lead to a green in regulation. The fairway slopes from right to left, leaving golfers a challenging approach shot to a very narrow green nestled among trees on three sides and bunkers short. This undulating green will punish the player who faces a putt from above the hole.
Hole #18
This straight away par 4 gives players a look back at Wiltwyck’s picturesque clubhouse and patio. A wide fairway will allow players to tee off with confidence but even a well hit tee shot will leave a long second shot, slightly uphill to a multi-tiered green defended by a very deep bunker short right and cedar trees left. A precise approach shot is required to give the player a reasonable chance for three but even a short putt is no gimme on this undulating green.
